What is the difference between Part 141 vs. Part 61?
Part 141 training provides a structured program to give the student a solid foundation to base a professional career in aviation from.
The Part 61 program may be more suitable for a student with previous training experience, or one who needs more flexibility in their training environment.
Northeast Helicopters can train under both Part 141 and Part 61, but there is no difference in the quality of the training you will receive.

FAA Part 141 Flight Schools:
Part 141 flight schools are held to a more structured environment with an FAA approved syllabus for every course offered. The students must pass a series of stage or progress checks to ensure the student is achieving the standards set forth by the curriculum. There is a required amount of professional ground school that is held to the same standards. Part 141 schools enable VA students to take advantage of their VA benefits and usually will have more financing available compared to Part 61 schools.
Part 61 Flight Schools:
Any flight school is capable of training under part 61 without standards and inspections imposed by the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration). Training under part 61 can serve as a benefit to some students depending on their experience in aviation.
When choosing a flight school it is important that the school trains to the 141 standard, even if you are a part 61 student.
