Arnie flies for CHC Helicopter Service in Norway. Currently the company has five helicopters (4 Super Pumas, AS 332L1 and 1 Bell 214ST). Stationed off-shore on oil rigs North Sea approximately 140 NM off the coast of Norway. He is stationed as Captain on a AS332L1 reg.# LN-OPX (picture) on a rig named Heidrun. Response time of 15 minutes during daytime and 25 minutes during night time. They ooperate with a five person crew. (Captain, Co-Pilot, Hoist Operator, Resueman, and Medic.) They are equipped for all weather search and resuce which means they have deice/antiice on rotors and engines and auto hover etc. It’s a fun and demanding job!
